We Took Our Own Advice: Welcome to the New Shire Marketing Website

Practice What You Preach

We spend every day telling Sutherland Shire businesses that their website matters. That speed matters. That user experience matters. That SEO should be built in from day one, not bolted on afterwards. That your website should be your hardest-working employee.

So we took our own advice.

Today we are launching the new Shire Marketing website. Built from scratch on Webflow. Designed by Tyler. Developed by Maria and Miles. Every word written by Oliver with SEO and real people in mind. Strategy led by the entire team.

If we are going to tell you that your website needs to be faster, cleaner, and more purposeful, ours had better be too.

Why We Rebuilt

Our previous site was on WordPress. It served us well, but over time it started showing the same symptoms we diagnose in our clients' websites every week. Page speed was slipping. The design was not reflecting the quality of work we deliver. The content had grown organically without a clear structure. And the technical debt from plugins, patches, and workarounds was piling up.

We could have patched it. We could have done what most agencies do and put their own website last on the priority list. But that felt dishonest. If we would not recommend our own setup to a client, we should not be running it ourselves.

So we started fresh.

What Changed

Platform. We moved from WordPress to Webflow. Faster hosting, cleaner code, no plugin bloat, and a visual CMS that lets us update content without touching a codebase. Speed is not optional, and Webflow gives us the performance foundation we need.

Speed. Our old site loaded in over 4 seconds on mobile. The new site loads in under 2. Every image is optimised. Every script is justified. Every page passes Core Web Vitals. We hold our clients to this standard, and now we hold ourselves to it too.

Design. Tyler rebuilt the entire user experience from the ground up. Mobile-first design. Clear visual hierarchy. Intentional layouts where every section earns its place on the page. The site now looks and feels like the agency we have become, not the one we were two years ago.

Content. Every service page has been rewritten with detailed, locally-focused copy that explains exactly what we do, how we do it, and who we do it for. No filler. No jargon. If you want to understand how Google Ads management works for a Sutherland Shire business, or what goes into building a website that actually converts, or how AI is changing the way customers find businesses, it is all there in plain language.

SEO. Every page has unique title tags, meta descriptions, schema markup, and internal linking built in from launch. Not as an afterthought. Not as a phase two project. Day one. This is what we mean when we tell clients that SEO should be part of the build, not an add-on.

What Is Coming Next

This launch is not the finish line. It is the starting point for a bigger commitment to the Sutherland Shire business community.

More content, more often. We are committing to publishing two new articles per month. Practical, locally-relevant digital marketing advice that you can actually use. Not thought leadership fluff. Real strategies, real examples, and real numbers from real campaigns. If you have been reading our blog, you know the tone. We are doubling down on it.

More teaching. We have over 60 combined years of experience across our team. We are going to start sharing more of what we know through guides, case studies, and resources that help Sutherland Shire businesses make smarter marketing decisions, whether they work with us or not. If we can help a tradie in Engadine understand why their Google Ads are not converting, or help a law firm in Miranda figure out where to invest their marketing budget, that is a win for the whole community.

Getting closer to our area. We live and work in the Sutherland Shire. Burraneer is home. But we want to go deeper. More local case studies. More suburb-specific content. More involvement in the business community. We are not a CBD agency parachuting in with generic advice. We are your neighbours, and we want our content and our work to reflect that.

A Genuine Thank You

Before we talk about what is next, we want to say something we do not say often enough: thank you.

We have more than 2,000 people visiting our website every month. The majority of you are local. And a significant number of you spend real time on our blog pages, reading what we write, coming back for more, and sharing it with colleagues and friends.

That is not something we take for granted. Every article we publish is written with you in mind. Not for an algorithm. Not for a vanity metric. For the business owner in the Shire who is trying to figure out whether SEO is worth it, or how much to spend on Google Ads, or whether their website is helping or hurting them.

So thank you. Genuinely.

What Do You Want to Read About?

Here is where we need your help.

We have a content calendar mapped out for the next six months. But we would rather write about the things you actually want to know than the things we think you should know. If there is a topic you have been wondering about, a question you keep Googling, or a challenge your business is facing that you think we could shed light on, we want to hear it.

Some things we are already planning to cover:

  • How much digital marketing should actually cost for a small Sutherland Shire business
  • Google Ads vs SEO: where to spend your first marketing dollar
  • The real impact of Google reviews on local rankings
  • How to choose a digital marketing agency (and what to watch out for)
  • Ecommerce SEO for Sydney retailers
  • Social media strategies that actually work for local hospitality businesses

But if there is something else you want us to dig into, let us know. Drop us a message through the contact page, reply to our newsletter, or send an email to hello@shiremarketing.com.au. We read every one.

Some Exciting News on the Horizon

We cannot share the details just yet, but we have some exciting announcements coming in the next few weeks. New partnerships. New client wins. And some new capabilities that will help us deliver even more for Sutherland Shire businesses.

If you want to be the first to hear about it, keep an eye on the blog or subscribe to our newsletter. We will share everything as soon as we can.

The New Site Is Live. Go Have a Look.

Browse the services. Check out the portfolio. Read the blog. And if something catches your eye or you have feedback on the new design, we would love to hear it.

This is the website we would build for a client. Now it is the website we built for ourselves.

Thanks for being here.
